Preventing addiction among sailing personnel
On reading MSH's detailed report of its insurance claims, an international maritime transport leader made an unexpected discovery: some of its sailing staff had an addiction problem. MSH's medical team worked with the company’s medical advisor to develop a prevention kit to build awareness among those affected or identified as at risk. The leaflets were sent by email to all concerned and MSH’s medical director visited the site to run prevention sessions at regular intervals: a strategy that had far-reaching benefits.
