NeoStudents, the insurance plan for young people studying abroad

Any individual of any nationality between the ages of 18 and 35 (inclusive) living in France at the time of departure and going abroad (tourism, volunteering in humanitarian aid, au pair stay, etc.) can enroll in our neoStudents insurance plan. 

The plan only covers one person. You will not be able to add any dependents to your plan. If you are leaving with other persons, each of you will have to take out their own insurance plan in their name. 

Yes. For example, your parents can take out a plan on your behalf. Before going abroad, make sure they give you all your insurance documents!

The neoStudents plan can be taken out for a minimum period of 1 month and a maximum period of 12 months. Please note that the plan is not automatically renewed. As a consequence, if you want to extend your coverage, you will have to take out a new plan. If you are going abroad with other persons, each individual has to take out their own insurance.

Within 24 hours after enrolling in the neoStudents plan, you will be emailed a “Welcome pack” containing your certificate and all the information you need to go abroad (reimbursement turnaround time and coverage limits, covered benefits, etc.). Taking out specific insurance coverage offers many advantages, whatever the reason why you are going abroad (studies, tourism, professional training, etc.). Wherever you are, your emergency medical costs will be covered. The plan also covers accidents resulting in bodily injury and requiring repatriation assistance, consultations or emergency medical procedures, for example. With neoStudents, you also have access to a multilingual teleconsultation service for greater peace of mind. 

The cost of healthcare varies greatly from one country to another. In the US for example, emergency dental care is very costly. Without insurance, you will have to pay a much higher amount than in France, when covered by Social Security. If you are going to a country which is not a member State of the European Union, you will no longer be covered by the French healthcare scheme and your healthcare costs (in the event of an illness, accident, etc.) will probably no longer be reimbursed! Please note that the insurance provided by your bank card will not be enough.

Travel insurance also allows you to benefit from financial protection. For example, in the event of the loss or theft of your personal effects (Gopro, smartphone, laptop, etc.), you will be reimbursed. Also, some insurance providers like MSH offer an advance of funds if needed. 

Travel insurance will also allow you to benefit from legal assistance and third-party liability coverage abroad if you face a situation in which you need to defend your interests (damage caused to a third party during your stay, etc.).  

Last but not least, many countries require an insurance certificate to validate the visa application. 
 

If your phone is snatched, your claim must be submitted within 2 working days. The following supporting documents must be provided to us:

• Copy of the police report issued by the competent authorities.
• List of stolen items specifying the price and date of purchase.
• Copies of invoices of personal effects showing the date and your name.

In the event of fraudulent use of your SIM card, you must also provide us with:

• The detailed invoice showing the amount of fraudulent calls made by a third party with your cell phone
• The copy of the request to block your SIM card submitted to the concerned operator.
