Cost of the visa: NZ $280 since July 1, 2019

Turnaround time: 1-2 weeks

To apply for a visa for New Zealand, you must:

• Be between 18 and 30 years old (inclusive) at the time of application (this may vary depending on nationality)
• Hold a valid passport from any country having signed an agreement with New Zealand
• Have sufficient funds to meet your needs at the beginning of your stay (NZ $4,200 equivalent to at least €2,500)
• Not be accompanied by dependents during your stay
• Not previously have entered New Zealand on a Working Holiday Visa (first application)
• Have international health insurance for the duration of your stay
• Apply for a WHV as long as the year's quotas have not been reached

Please note that Working Holiday Visa conditions may vary depending on the country

NB: There is no quota for French, Belgian and Canadian nationals, anyone can get a visa.

To apply for a visa, you must follow the procedure set out on the New Zealand Immigration website:

After creating an account, you can fill out the online visa application form, pay the fee and submit your application. Depending on your situation, you may also be required to undergo a medical examination by a doctor approved by the New Zealand authorities (but this is not always the case).
